I’ve been doing nails for 8 years, and after competing in awards and cometitions, wanted to share my skills through my online academy and 1-2-1 sessions.

I started when I had my first baby and realised I couldn’t just pop into a salon anymore, so my lovely friend bought me a DIY kit and I practised at home.

Soon friends and family were asking me to do their nails. I charged £5–£10, and what started as a hobby quickly grew into a full-time business.

Over the years, I’ve mastered gel nails, builder gel, and creative nail art, learning from competitions, courses, and social media. I’ve been honoured to receive awards from the Hair & Beauty Awards, the UK Hair & GB Beauty Awards- placing in both East Anglia Awards and UK Nail Technician of the Year Awards, and have been featured in Scratch magazine.

I’m also proud to work alongside respected brands like Katie Barnes and Bluesky, further growing my expertise.

As people kept asking “how do you do that?”, I realised I could help others. That’s why I launched Mel’s Gels Training Academy, where I teach you to:
